Celebrate Scratch Day with Nucleus Learning Network. Join this free beginner workshop geared towards educators. Bring your own laptop and get introduced to Scratch, a free computer programming language for children. No experience necessary! This class is for beginners with little to no experience with Scratch or computer programming. We will be creating a simple animation, discussing how to teach Scratch to students, and introduce you to the world of Scratch.
Who is this workshop for?: We are inviting educators to this workshop - we define educator broadly and hope to get classroom teachers, afterschool program directors, informal educators, homeschool parents, and more at this workshop. No experience necessary, this workshop is designed for beginners. We will be introducing you to Scratch and some approaches to teaching computer programming with students as young as 2nd grade.
What do I need to bring?: Participants need to bring one laptop per educator. Laptops must be wi-fi enabled, or have the Scratch Desktop Version installed in advance of the workshop: https://scratch.mit.edu/scratch2download/
